IMO sulphur cuts
From January 1 2020, in an effort to realise major health and environmental benefits, International Maritime Organization legislation (IMO 2020) cuts the global limit for sulphur in fuel oil used on board ships from 3.5% to 0.50%. The effects of this significant change are being felt throughout the shipping industry and right across the supply chain; creating new challenges for refiners, bunkerers and lubricant suppliers.
